As quick work lunches go I don't think you can beat Ravens Bakery. A great choice of food for low prices. I got a drink, sandwich and cheese straw for £5.95. Perfect. All their bread is freshly made, so I would recommend getting there before 12pm to get the best choice. Also they sell second hand kids' books, which is adorable 👌😁
I cannot but stop anytime I pass by this bakers. The bread is superb. A great selection of sweet and savoury snacks, cake and sarnies. The hot cross buns are fabulous. I've just picked a load, they're still warm and gooey, and I got in there just before the queue started to develop.

Best Hot Cross buns in Brighton worth queuing for every Easter. Have been coming here since I was a child and have grown up with Almond slices from this bakery and they haven’t changed a bit in 30 years still delicious! Great bakery

Raven's Bakery is a blast from the past where you can buy delicious and satisfying favourites without any of the mish, mash of highly processed ingredients in more expensive product's sold by the bigger stores. If you trying to find a traditional bakery selling fantastic products from somebody who has time to serve you with a smile, look no further 😀😋🎂🍰🧁🥧

You can't beat ravens for a local bakery. Nice selection great prices! I love going in for a filled roll of some sort and a sausage roll. On a cold day having a potato dog warmed up is just what you'll want.
Owner response
Thanks Jordan! We do potato hotdog everyday aroud 9am just come out the oven 😋have to be quick! They gone very quick 😉
Great bakery. I own the Indian down the road (Agra Tandoori) and this place has been around for a long time - as long as I can remember. We’ve been in the area for nearly 40 years and I think this bakery was there before us. Regardless, always been great, just wanted to thank you for your lovely food!
Owner response
Thank you for your good comments Mo! We love your food as well! 😋
A bakery that bakes amazing ordinary bread for a really decent price. The FP down the road charges so much more for bread that basically comes out the oven stale. The Chelsea buns and doughnuts are beyond description.

OMG, what a find! Not a sourdough starter in sight and packed with iced buns, chelsea buns, Jam doughnuts, white split tin loaves, granary loaves: I'm in heaven! It took all my self control not to have everything, but I went for a jam doughnut which looked perfect and was, in fact perfect: crispy, sugary, just the right amount of jam. We also bought a granary loaf and I haven't tasted bread like it for years, again it was perfect: crispy crust, soft middle, full of flavour it's just the right texture and perfect with butter and marmite.Owner response

My son discovered this Bakers' a few days ago whilst walking around fiveways from Preston park.
Best for miles!
I now can't buy anywhere else - well worth the walk up.
No pretentiousness. Paper bags, simple presentation, excellent bread, cakes and pastries (plus the fresh eggs are lovely).
Sometimes the loaf I'd had in mind hasn't been ready but the alternatives have been of the same standard.
No superfluous packaging - plain paper bags.
This all makes me so happy!Owner response
Thank you for your support! 👍😊
One of the best bakeries going, fantastic selection all at reasonable prices. Biggest favourite by a mile is the hot X buns, they're superb. Just remember to shop reasonably early as this place has a great turnover, both local and not so local clientele. Definitely worth a visit, you won't regret it.

Thank you for your good comments Gary! Look forward to seeing you soon 😊
Ravens consistently makes some of the best bread I've ever had. Go early and it's still warm. Eat it within a few days as it doesn't have preservatives in (not that it lasts that long). They do great chocolate squares too! But you have to get in early before they have all gone!

A real traditional independent bakery. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Large selection at very reasonable prices. I've never had anything other than delicious tasty items. I can't recommend this place enough.

I love this place! It’s an old fashioned bakery with good quality bread that’s well priced. Their Easter hot cross buns are truly the best in Brighton. Always a line outside but worth the wait.
